Update: all stores including online have reopened! Yay!
In another chapter of the heightened drama at Deciem, CEO and founder Brandon Truaxe has been ousted by a Judge in Canada who ruled on the side of minority investor Estee Lauder. Co-founder Nicola Kilner will take over control.
Last week, after months of odd posts on social media, in which many wondered if he was struggling with mental health issues, Brandon abruptly closed down the retail stores. The website sporadically worked.
A spokesperson from Estee Lauder told Forbes:
“Today’s court decision reinforces The Estée Lauder Companies’ strong commitment to Deciem and its employees. We are confident that Deciem will continue to provide its consumers with the incredible products that they know and love. As a minority investor, we strongly support Nicola Kilner, the Deciem leadership team and its employees as they continue to run their business.”
We look forward to her leadership and hope Brandon finds peace and the support he needs.
Deciem’s products are fantastic, and we wish the company great success!
